Day 9: Bean Growth

I see a leaf in my bean on the side. The leaf colour is really green.  The skin of my bean is coming off.  My sprout is long and it is growing little sprout out of the long sprout. I just measured my sprout to see how long it was and it is is 3 cm long.

I think my bean is going to be a really big plant and it is going to be so cool!  The colour of my bean plant will be green and it is going to be a really nice plant to eat!

Who would have thought that watching a bean would have been so interesting or popular? This is a really straightforward idea that has just worked so well. Its been a great 'thinker' in the classroom too because we've thought about variations that we could do to interest others. Fantastic!

That is quite a weird photo you have there. It makes it look like the leaves are sprouting beneath the ground. I bet you are pleased that your plant is growing successfully. Who watered it over the long weekend?

As a keen gardener, I enjoy watching plants grow. Last year, Room 5 grew tomatoes and sunflowers and it was very successful. I am glad your bean is growing.

Hi Kids
I love your blog. Baby Sylvie is very cute. I bet you will miss her. My class has just started creating an online magazine. My kids are in Year 4 and 5 like you. We'd love you to visit our e-zine and leave us some comments in the discussion tabs. My kids listen to feedback about full stops and capital letters much better from other kids than they do from me! Our e-zine address is:
